No patients were impacted during a brief power outage at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute Tuesday.

A Duke Energy representative confirmed an internal problem with the hospital’s circuit breaker caused the outage.

The only department affected was radiology.

Backup power went into operation immediately, according to Regional Hospital. While it is standard practice for trauma patients to be diverted to other hospitals during such an event, power was restored before that was necessary.
