LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Redbird State Recreation Area is set to reopen Friday, August 9.
According to a release from the DNR, Redbird has been closed to the public since March 11 for construction of a new entrance and office building with a gatehouse. DNR says that construction was delayed due to the record rainfall this spring.
The work also included repairs to multiple drainage areas and new trails for riders. Redbird primarily serves off-road vehicles.
Once reopened, Redbird will resume its normal hours of sunrise to sunset, seven days a week.
