Recycled Rubber to Offer Jobs

A 25 million dollar project for the city of Terre Haute is currently under discussion. It would offer 55 jobs paying 19 dollars an hour.

The operation of the business is to use recycled tire materials to manufacture plastic and rubber. Economic development director Steve Witt says no tires would be stores or shredded at the location. The spot where they’d look to build is the Fort Harrison business park.

“Anytime we can bring good paying jobs to our community is a good thing, that’s why we exist here at the economic development corporation to try to facilitate such projects,” Steve Witt said.

This project is still in the very early stages of discussion, more details will be released in March.
