Indiana State Police, the Putnam County Coroner and anthropology experts at the University of Indianapolis have identified the skeletal remains that were found in a Putnam County Park back in April.
The deceased has been identified as William Wayne Johansen of rural Putnam County. Johansen had been reported missing on November 15, 2016.
His remains were discovered in the Van Bibber-Glen Flynt Lake area on April 26, 2018.
They were then taken to the University of Indianapolis for processing and analysis, with a DNA sample sent to the Indiana State Police Laboratory Services in Indianapolis.
The exact cause of death has not been determined; but based on the skeletal remains, foul play is not suspected.
Indiana State Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
