There was a long line Monday at the Vigo courthouse as folks cast ballots for the last day of early voting.
What you see when you walk into a vote center is the end result of a lot of planning.
“As soon as the General Election was over last year for the city, we met two weeks after that and started preparing for this election,” said, Co- Director of Vigo County Voters Registration, Bob Lawson.
This time around, there are 18 vote centers in Vigo County. With six volunteers or workers manning each of those sites.
“It will probably be a line in most places if you go to to vote, but you have to be patient,” said Polling Volunteer, Jaunita Baldridge.
Vigo County goes by paperless ballots, which means they rely on technology.
Vigo County hasn’t had a problem yet, but these laptops are here on stand-by, just in case something happens.
“A lot of preparation goes into it. The vote centers just don’t open themselves,” said Co- Director of Vigo County Voters Registration, Bob Lawson.
