State Representative Tonya Pfaff issued a statement of support for Hoosier teachers Wednesday afternoon.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana Rep. Tonya Pfaff (D-Terre Haute) announced Monday that she has been selected to serve on four temporary committees. They include Commerce and Economic Development, Elections, and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation. She was also added to the Indiana Standards and Assessment Accommodation Task Force.

Being involved in the committees requires listening to the testimony of experts and the general public. During the legislative session, permanent committees in both chambers often consider bills based upon the interim committees’ findings.

“It is a unique privilege to be on the summer task force on education accommodations, especially after successfully passing a bill on a similar subject last session,” said Pfaff.

Rep. Pfaff recently passed House Bill 1341, which will expand opportunities for students with disabilities and contribute to workforce development throughout the state.

“Furthermore, I am excited to hit the ground running on the Interim Study Committee on Elections, considering the serious complications we are facing amid the coronavirus pandemic,” Pfaff said. “There is a lot of work to be done there and I am highly motivated to continue my effort in expanding voter access for all Hoosiers.
