The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office is warning parents about an internet trend that is called the “Momo Challenge”.
According to staff with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office the hoax appears on videos online, with a figure telling children to harm themselves.
Plasse says the hoax disguises itself within videos that are targeted towards children and he says parents should be on alert.
“Where do you draw the line when you’re watching your child? You watch the whole video with them to make sure nothing is in that? Maybe we need to take that extra step to ensure our children our safe,” said Sheriff John Plasse, Vigo County.
Plasse says he has heard reports of children seeing these videos but no one has harmed themselves.
