Just after 9:00 last night Terre Haute Police responded to reports of gunshots at 29 Oakland Avenue after a party turned dangerous.
Officers, SWAT and Special Response Teams were on the scene for several hours.
People were told to stay inside their homes during the stand-off.
They also remained in the Subway restaurant on Wabash Avenue.
Just after 12:30 this morning police took a suspect into custody.
Chief John Plasse tells us what started as a friendly gathering at the home ended with the suspect shooting a gun.
The suspect hid in the attic for several hours.
He says in situations like this it’s important to have a quick response.
Christopher Blanton was arrested on criminal recklessness and pointing a fire arm.
He’s in the Vigo County jail this morning without bond.
No one was hurt in incident.
Chief Plasse says they appreciate the public staying away from the scene and Subway for staying open so people could remain inside.
