Police chase suspect accused of burglarizing restaurant


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Terre Haute Police Department is searching for a suspect in a burglary at Chava’s Restaurant on Wabash Avenue.

According to THPD’s Facebook page, officers were dispatched to assist ISU Police around 7:30 a.m. Friday.

ISU officers were actively pursuing the suspect who had fled from Chava’s Restaurant onto ISU’s campus. Based on details found at the scene, including a hammer, the suspect’s shoes, and a broken front door window, the suspect had burglarized the restaurant and then fled on foot.

At this time, ISU’s campus has been cleared following a search by law enforcement. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Sgt. Rains at 812-244-2662.
