ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A Carlisle man is in custody, following a police stop that turned into a police pursuit.

The Parke County Sheriffs Department said that Rockville police were looking for 33 year old Drew A. Burger of Carlisle. He had an active warrant for a parole violation.

Late Friday, law enforcement stopped a car on U.S. 41 and Sassafras Drive where Burger was riding in the passenger seat. As the car pulled over, a female driver exited the car, and Burger climbed over the console and fled northbound through Rockville.

As Burger fled, he threw contraband from the vehicle. He then, ran off the road and struck a fence, east of Marshall on County Road 350 north, where he was arrested.

He was found to be in a possession of a large quantity of meth and he faces charges of parole violation, resisting law enforcement, dealing meth, and other charges.

Burger is being held in Parke County Jail with no bond.
