Chief John Plasse has made a recommendation to terminate Terre Haute city police officer Daniel Armentrout.

Plasse confirmed this to WTWO News Thursday, as well as a notice issued by the merit board.
The merit board will meet on Thursday, October 19th at 10:00 AM where they will conduct a hearing on Armentrout’s case.

Daniel Armentrout pleaded guilty to one count of battery and one count of intimidation back in August, regarding a domestic dispute that occurred in December of 2015. He was sentenced to one year informal probation for the plea.

Armentrout was off-duty at the time of the incident but was also suspended without pay after his arrest.

He was an 18-year veteran with the police department.
