TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – People gathered outside Terre Haute City Hall on Thursday for National Day of Prayer.
Mayor Duke Bennett gave the welcoming remarks and opening prayer, followed by prayers from various local organizations.
The theme of this year’s event is “Love One Another”.
“It brings us back to our roots, what our country was founded on. Not only just that, but just recognizing that we need God. We need His wisdom. We need His strength and His guidance, and to come before Him humbly and to pray, I think is the key to moving forward and helping our nation,” says Michele Urlick, Co-Director of The Torchhouse.
Event organizers say this is a prayer service they will continue to hold every year.
