What does a normal Friday night consist of for you? How about a party at the library!

In honor of this week being National Library Week, the Vigo County Public Library is hosting a party this Friday April 14th from 6-8 PM. Attendees will be able to enjoy food, games and entertainment.

The event is part of a larger effort to recognize the role of libraries in transforming the community.

“It’s important for individuals to celebrate their libraries because not only are we a place where will always offer books, but we offer so much more, we are a place for community members to meet, we are a safe place for individuals to visit, and we have so many other resources,” says Public Relations Manager of the Vigo County Public Library Elizabeth Scamihorn.

Folks who sign up for a library card at Friday’s event will also receive a complimentary library tote bag. Current library card holders can bring a friend to register for a library card and both will receive a free, reusable cotton tote bag.
