Parke County Rumble benefits local students

ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Parke County students pursuing an education at a local college received a little help during the 4th Annual Parke County Rumble on Saturday.

The fundraising ride benefits Parke County residents and high school students pursuing college credentials at Ivy Tech Community College.

Around 50 participants rode from the 36 Saloon in Rockville around scenic Parke County.

Following the ride was a bike show where awards were given out in categories such as People’s Choice, Custom Color, and the Ivy Tech Chancellor’s Award.

“Ivy Tech has a learning center in Parke County and we have made a commitment to education in this community, this community has really rallied around its students and making sure that they have a successful future, so this event is really the embodiment of that spirit,” said Ivy Tech Community College Executive Director of Development Rachel Mullinnix.

Organizers had a goal to raise $12,000 but Mullinix said they were on track to beat that and nearly $15,000.
