PARKE COUNTY (WTWO/WAWV) — Parke County celebrated Christmas cheer Saturday with a parade and tree lighting.
People gathered around Rosedale Elementary School for the parade. Participants of the parade walked down Main Street and back to the elementary school.
A member of the Florida Township Civic Center said it was important to spread joy due to the traditional Christmas festivities being cancelled.
“It definitely means a lot cause I know that everybody has struggled throughout last year with the pandemic,” said Sarah Osborn said.
Donations were taken for Toys for Tots during the event.
