PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Paris, Ill. man died Wednesday after getting stuck in the door of a hay baler while trying to fix the machine.

Frank Hollingsworth, 86, was using the hay baler around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night with another man when the two hit something in front and stopped the machine, an Edgar County Coroner’s Office Facebook post said. While trying to get rid of the obstruction, officials say the rear door shut on Hollingsworth.

Emergency services from Horizon Health, along with officials from the Paris police and fire departments, were on the scene in minutes and soon after called the coroner who pronounced Hollingsworth, a Paris native, dead at the scene. The accident is currently being investigated by the Paris Police and the Edgar County Coroner.
