Some people have to work in this weather, whether they like it or not. It’s tough work and it can be dangerous. But , those working in the cold have ways to deal with the conditions.
WTWO News talked to a couple of people who have jobs that people depend on, in all weather conditions. For firefighters and tow truck drivers, the weather is just “part of the job”. When people need assistance, they have to respond in all kinds of conditions. Both men said that dressing in layers is very important and they also stress the importance of being up-to-date with weather forecasts.
Lt. Kevin Murphy from the Honey Creek Fire Department says the county has rehabilitation trailers which offer a warm place for firefighters when they are responding to an emergency in cold weather.
