UPDATE: Terre Haute man in stable condition after being struck by vehicle while mowing

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One person was airlifted to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle while mowing a lawn.

A vehicle driven by Dakota Bluck of Terre Haute was traveling on State Road 46 near Riley. According to Indiana State Police PIO Sgt. Matt Ames, the vehicle suffered a mechanical issue and left the roadway, striking a lawn mower driven by Mark Clinkenbeard of Terre Haute.

Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse said Clickenbeard was thrown from the mower, and that the mower flipped over, catching fire.

Clickenbeard was transported by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital. As of Tuesday, Clickenbeard was reported to be in stable condition, according to Plasse.

Indiana State Police, Riley Fire Department and the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department were on the scene.
