One dead after wreck involving motorcycle, car in Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One person is dead after an accident involving a motorcycle and car Saturday night.

It happened around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of 3rd and Ohio Streets.

A crash report says that a motorcyclist, 37-year-old John Giles of Brazil, ran a red light and struck another vehicle.

Giles and his female passenger, 31-year-old Tiffany Smith of Sullivan, were thrown from the motorcycle.

Giles was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Smith was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
