A man is behind bars at the Vigo County Jail, after leading police on a chase starting in Pimento and ending near Downtown Terre Haute.
On Friday afternoon, Indiana State Police attempted to pull over a vehicle that was speeding on northbound US 41 in Pimento.
When the driver saw the trooper’s car, he suddenly increased his speed and led police on a pursuit.
A short time later, Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies and West Terre Haute Police units deployed tire deflation devices at around 3rd and Chestnut Streets, finally bringing the vehicle to a stop.
The driver was taken into custody, however officials say they have yet to identify suspect, because he gave police multiple names and identification information.
Police also learned the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen out of Chicago, earlier this month.
The suspect remains in the Vigo County Jail and faces charges of resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness and auto theft.
