TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The much talked about convention center in Terre Haute is getting closer to becoming a reality.
Tuesday, officials announced they are aiming to break ground on the building in mid July. The announcement was made during a Vigo County Capital Improvement Board meeting.
Project management firm Nations Group said they will begin advertising the project for bid solicitation soon with documents ready to sent out by May 20.
The vice president of Nations Group said the timeline is right on schedule
“We are in very good shape,” Steve Bauer said. “I mean, the key has always been the intergovernmental agreement between the various parties in Terre Haute, and now with the county council’s approval last night, that’s done.”
Construction bids will be due on June 11.
