TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Wabash Valley Health Center is expanding its facility at 1436 Locust Street in Terre Haute.

Officials broke ground Wednesday on the 3,700 square foot expansion.

It will create a bigger waiting room, ten new medical exam rooms and a denture lab.

The main entrance will move to the northside of the clinic.

There will also be improved accessibility from the parking lot and safety enchancements.

The health center provides access to quality and affordable health care.

CEO Charlie Welker says this project is the continuation of a journey that began with St. Anne’s Clinic back in 1997.

“To all of those people who spent the time, the energy, their passion to serve the underserved, what a journey it’s been,” says Welker.

He says the hope is to have the project complete in December of 2020.
