Clay County - A Clay County man and sheriff's deputy is recovering in the hospital, after both were involved in an accident on Tuesday.
According to Indiana State Police, 64-year-old Roger Curl of Clay City was traveling eastbound on County Road 1100 South, when he failed to stop at a stop sign on County Road 225 East.
That resulted in him colliding with Clay County Sheriff Deputy David Gates, who was en route to another accident with injuries just south of this crash.
Deputy Gates was reported to have had his lights and siren on, at the time Curl struck his police vehicle.
Both men were taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for their injuries and are expected to be okay.
Roger Curl was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
