TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Thursday is World Mental Health Day, and our team went to speak with mental health professionals at the Hamilton Center about caring for your health.
This year’s theme for Mental Health Day is suicide prevention and education.
Meghan Creech, director of Vigo County adult services with the Hamilton Center, said that there is a saying that every 40 seconds someone dies from suicide and every 41 seconds someone deals with the aftermath of it.
Taking 40 seconds of your day to check in on your mental health or the health of those you care about can make all the difference.
Creech also said, “So I think that any change that somebody sees in their behavioral health, seek out treatment. Go in and get an assessment. See your primary car physician. You might as well get that professional knowledge and resources if you need it.”
