Oaktown community hosts benefit for long-time resident battling cancer

KNOX Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Over 200 members of the Oaktown community are showed support and honor to of their own in her battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

Oak Village Healthcare put on a benefit for Terri Richards on Saturday evening to help with her medical costs.

Richards has worked with Oak Village Healthcare for over 25 years.

She said she’s very grateful to the community for their support in her fight.

“It’s awe inspiring. I didn’t really believe that this many people would be here and I’m just so grateful and thankful,” Richards said.

The dinner also included a silent auction.
