COVID-19 in Illinois: 1,182 new cases, 5 deaths reported Monday

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Department of Public Health Monday reported 1,182 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease throughout the state, including 5 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,199,517 cases, including 20,767 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.

Michigan man arrested after leading local authorities on high-speed chase

VERMILLION -- A Michigan man is facing multiple charges after leading State Police and other local authorities on a high-speed chase through Vermillion and Parke counties.

An Indiana State Police trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle being pursued by Rockville Police. The driver, later identified as Damian E. Carle, 27, of Allendale, Michigan, accelerated the vehicle to speeds over 100 mph, passing other other vehicles in a no passing zone.
