New Vincennes Police Chief selected

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Tuesday, Mayor Joe Yochum announced his selection for the next Vincennes Police Chief.

Robert “Bob” Dunham will take over as the Vincennes Police Chief, beginning November 27th.

Dunham comes to the Vincennes Police Department with over 34 years of law enforcement experience.

Dunham most recently served as the chief of the Vincennes University Police Department.

He also previously served as the Vincennes Police Chief for eight years.

Dunham says amid an FBI investigation within the department, he believes it’s time to move the department forward.

“There’s a lot to come into but it’s time to start moving forward again. We will continue to cooperate with the investigations, as well as the mayor and his office, the City of Vincennes, but we’re going to get started,” Dunham said.

Dunham says he believes his time with the Vincennes University Police Department has helped him become a better communicator.
