The search for the next Vigo County Superintendent is over.
School officials confirm they have picked a person to take over when current Superintendent Danny Tanoos retires in July.
It’s been four months since the board started looking for Tanoos’ replacement.
This week, The Vigo County School Board President Jackie Lower sent out an email announcing to school staff, the board has found the district’s next leader.
The email says the candidate has “significant superintendent experience and is excited to work work with all of the VCSC family.”
Along with interviewing the contenders, the board hired a consultant, and solicited public opinions as part of the superintendent search.
The email also shares the board’s appreciation for the patience and trust of the community during the process.
And the name will be released soon.
The next step for the candidate is to be considered at an upcoming public board meeting.
