BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The community of Brazil is enjoying a new mural that was dedicated on Wednesday.
There’s a new Refreshment Services Pepsi mural on the side of the Alabama Bar and Grill.
Refreshment Services Pepsi contacted local artist Becky Hochhalter to paint the mural.
She was inspired by a vintage 1940s Pepsi design.
The mural shows two boys peeking through a wooden fence to see a baseball game, with a Pepsi-Cola delivery truck making a stop at the ballpark.
The painting also features a Pepsi logo, the names of local school teams, as well as a depiction of the restaurant owner’s dad Raymond with his dog Rocky.
“This is our heart and soul here at the Alabama’s and this just makes it extra special,” says owner Kelly Market. “It brightens up the wall. It just shows the community how much we love it and we love the Alabama. It’s extra special to us.”
“The people of Brazil really appreciate public art and they aren’t afraid to tell you that,” says Hochhalter. “They come out in droves to tell me how much they appreciate it.”
Hochhalter worked on the mural for about six weeks.
