EDGAR COUNTY, Ill (WTWO-WAWV) — The Edgar County Coroner has released preliminary information on the death of a Kansas woman. The information was released on the Edgar County Coroner’s Facebook page.
Coroner Scott Barrett says the body of Shawnna L. Cunningham, 44, was found inside her Kansas home by a family member at 2:40 p.m. on Monday, September 18. After the discovery, a 911 call was immediately placed and the Kansas Police Department was on scene within minutes of the call.
An autopsy was conducted Tuesday morning in Champaign, Illinois, by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Shiping Bao. The toxicology results are pending.
The incident remains under investigation by the Kansas Police Department, Illinois State Police CSI, and the Edgar County Coroner.
