You’ll notice a new piece of artwork near the Vigo County Public Library on Walnut.
The new Art Spaces sculpture honors Theodore Dreiser.
Dreiser was born in Terre Haute back in 1871.
He’s the author of eight novels and numerous short stories and other literary works.
The artwork contains a collection of Dreiser’s phrases.
The eastbound bridge over the Wabash River from West Terre Haute to Terre Haute is also named after him and so is a building on Indiana State University’s campus.
