Community matters and our community is rallying behind the memory of Matt Lueking.
In person Thursday, on the corner of Ohio and 9 and 1/2 Street, B92.7 and HI 99.9 took donations for a new endowment.
The fund titled, “Blessed for Another Day” is taking shape.
Funds donated will be used in an endowment for many of the things Matt loved and worked towards in our community.
It’s just one of the many ways family and friends of Luecking are recognizing him, his ideals, and his passions.
“Some things to benefit the local parks,” says Eric Michaels, program director for B92.7 and HI 99.9. “Matt was big on playing tennis, basketball, of course he talked a lot about the pool throughout this year, so just anything he was really passionate about. He loved Indiana State. Sycamore basketball team. And you know, just things he really enjoyed.”
“You know, Matt really had this spirit about Terre Haute,” says Jamie Dawson, the afternoon DJ at B92.7 “You know, as Eric mentioned it was parks, and ISU basketball and the pool and things, but it just really was about Terre Haute being a better place. And I think what you are going to see is as this endowment moves forward 10, or 15 years down the road is it’s just projects that are going to overall make Terre Haute a better place.”
Giving in person ends at 6.
But if you can’t make it to Ohio street, feel free to stop into any Terre Haute Savings Bank or Baeslers.
