Moved For Safety

News

The four people charged in the starvation death of a young boy are now in state prison.

Earlier Tuesday, the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department requested that the four be moved for safety purposes.

Vigo County Sheriff Greg Ewing said the individuals accused in the death of nine year old Cameron Hoopingarner were transported to state prison facilities.

He said the last thing we would want to happen is for the accused individuals to be injured while in Vigo County custody.

He also said overcrowding at the Vigo County Jail was a factor in the move.

According to Sheriff Ewing, Hubert and Chad Kraemer were taken to the state facility in Plainfield.

He said Robin Kraemer and Sarah Travioli were transported to a prison in Rockville.

It will cost Vigo County about 100 dollars per day to house each of the accused while in state prison.

Ewing said the 4 individuals will remain in state custody until they have court dates.
