TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Tiarra Taylor, who won the crown for iss. Indiana in June, was ISU’s homecoming parade grand marshal.
The communications major and senior at the university is only the second Miss. ISU to win the state title.
She said it’s been an honor for her to represent her school on such a large scale.
Taylor added that although pageants seem to be just about beauty, there’s much more to wearing the crown.
“There’s so many misconceptions about what it means to be a pageant girl or be Miss. Indiana. But one thing is that you have to be a leader. You have to be a servant and have a servant heart,” she said.
Taylor will compete in the Miss. America pageant in December.
