Monday, April 8, is the deadline for Hoosiers to register to vote if they want to take part in the upcoming May municipal primary.
While local clerks offices are closed for the day, people can still register online at IndianaVoters.com until 11:59 P.M.
The municipal elections are for city seats and some town positions.
Local officials hope residents of these areas get out and vote.
“These local officials have as much impact on us as the president and the federal office holders do, so it’s very important they get out and they vote for the city officials they want representing them,” says Vada Long, co-director of the Voter Registration Office.
Indiana’s municipal primary is on May 7.
Early voting starts Tuesday, April 9.
