TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Middle school from across the valley put their knowledge to the test with a statewide Science Bowl on Saturday.

Several schools participated in the competition. Honey Creek Middle School, Sarah Scott Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson Middle School put their knowledge to the test. Also, schools from Indianapolis, Ohio, and Michigan took part in the Science Bowl.

Teams competed by answering math and science questions in a quiz format.

Honey Creek’s Coach, Kelly Stout, said she enjoys seeing her students and their passion for learning.

“Really excited to see all these kids here on a Saturday morning and they’re all just as geeky as I am about being here for science and math. They are so excited about competing and they celebrate each question that they get right there. In the end, they really want to win regional, so we can go on to nationals,” Stout said.

The winning team will attend the finals in Washington DC. That will be at the end of April.
