May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and in honor of the month local educators and mentors went back to the classroom on Friday, for a lesson that could save lives.
Team of Mercy hosted a “Youth Mental Health First Aid” class at the West Terre Haute Library.
The 8 hour course teaches them what is typical adolescent behavior and what is extreme behavior. That’s so they can recognize the warning signs early and help the person get treatment, before the situation turns worse.
“Individuals are hurting. they are hurting all around our community and it can be resolved. suicide mental health all of these things are preventable,” said Christian Christ, Team Of Mercy
Participants today ranged from teachers, youth pastors and mentors.
