As we turn the calendars to a new month, there’s a new focus on Men’s Health and to raise awareness on a deadly cancer.
November is “Movember”, or No Shave November.
Guys are encouraged to avoid the razor to raise awareness about Men’s Health including testicular and prostate cancers.
The month for Pancreatic Cancer awareness.
Kathy Anderson wears her purple t-shirt with pride and sadness. She’s a volunteer at a “Pan Can” organization in Indianapolis. She’s turning the loss of her son, tom, into a mission to help prevent the deadly disease.
“He has two young daughters and he fought hard for Pancreatic Cancer and I know this is what he would want me to do, keep fighting till we can find a cure. That’s what I am doing. I am continuing his fight,” said Kathy Anderson of Purple Stride.
Within this year, pancreatic cancer has passed breast cancer in deaths. The survival rate in the first 5 years in at 8 %.
