A local library has another tool in its toolbox when it comes to funding a major renovation project.
The Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian awarded Marshall Public Library with a $35,000 Live and Learn Construction Grant.
That money will go toward the library’s interior remodeling and renovation project.
The renovation of the main floor will include a vestibule at the entrance, a new study room, a staff handicap accessible restroom, an enhanced genealogy area, more seating and a new floor layout. This is all in addition to a new coat of paint and new flooring.
Besides the grant announced on Tuesday, a $100,000 donation from the late Edwin Daly back in 2015 is also going toward the project.
