The Marshall, Ill. Public Library celebrated its grand re-opening on Monday.
The library has completed a four-month-long renovation. It includes an improved handicap accessible entrance, modernized teen area, updated computer stations and more.
There was also a special room dedication to honor published author Edwin “Sonny“ Daly who gave the library $100,000 for the renovation.
The library is also hosting a Smithsonian exhibit, as well as local exhibits.
“Not everyone is going to have the opportunity to go and visit a Smithsonian exhibit in Washington DC, so to have a Smithsonian exhibit with our grand re-opening is a special day,“ says library director Alyson Thompson.
The library will be giving guided tours to area school children.
