Man Out of Jail for DUI Charges, Being Investigated Again

A Vermillion County man who’s out of jail after facing DUI charges, is back in trouble with the law.

On July 2nd, Vermillion County Deputies visited the residence of Daniel T. Brown of Covington, where is it was believed he had stolen a firearm.

While deputies were at his house, Brown pulled his vehicle into the driveway. As he got out of his vehicle, he had shown signs that he had been drinking.

Brown refused to take a sobriety test and was taken into custody for driving a vehicle while intoxicated.

The deputies were able to find the stolen firearm and wil lbe returning it to the proper owner in Union County, Illinois.

Brown later posted 10% of a $9,000 bond and was then released.

Meanwhile, Brown is also being investigated for supposedly pointing a firearm at someone in an unrelated incident with an unrelated gun.

Police stay the investigation is still ongoing.
