Man Hospitalized in Motorcycle Crash

A man is recovering in the hospital, after being involved in a motorcycle accident in West Terre Haute.

Just before 6:30 on Wednesday, the man was traveling eastbound on Old Paris Road heading towards West Terre Haute, when he attempted to pass several vehicles along a curved road.

Officials say he was traveling at a high rate of speed, possibly over 100 miles per hour, when he lost control and hit a telephone pole.

First responders arrived on scene, to find the man had been flown from his bike, but was conscious and alert and was refusing medical attention.

He was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for his injuries. His name has not yet been released.

Vigo County Sheriff’s told WTWO they were closing that section of Old Paris Road for clean up, and is expected to last up to 30 minutes.
