A Greene County man is facing several felony charges, after a police investigation discovered he sexually molested an underage girl.
The investigation began back in June, after the Indiana Child Abuse & Neglect Hotline received an anonymous tip of alleged child molestation at a residence in Greene County.
A county sheriff’s deputy and DCS case worker traveled to the residence, located at South Wine Street in Owensburg. There, they interviewed the occupants of the home: Fifty year old Troy Tindell Tindell, 60-year-old Mary Gallagher and a 9-year-old girl.
During an interview with the girl, she made allegations that Tindell inappropriately touched her.
When Tindell was questioned by police, he denied all allegations and refused to take a polygraph exam.
The girl was taken to the Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center, for further examination. She described, in detail, about how Tindell engaged in inappropriate touching and sexual acts on numerous occasions.
Detectives also learned that Tindell was a truck driver, and had taken the young girl with him on overnight drives, where they would often make him sleep with her and he perform sexual acts.
On Monday, a warrant was issued for Tindell’s arrest, he later turned himself in on Wednesday.
He now faces multiple charges of child molestation.
