Man charged with theft, burglary after televisions found in car

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Washington, Indiana man is behind bars on burglary and theft charges after police noticed televisions in the back of his vehicle.

A Vincennes police officer early Sunday morning saw Michael Gilmore struggling to shut the rear passenger side door of his vehicle. When the officer approached Gilmore, he saw two televisions in the back with what appeared to be blood on them, according to authorities.

The officer also said Gilmore “appeared to be very nervous.”

Officers investigating the incident found what appeared to be blood on the inside of a door at Bethany Christian Church. A window at the church had also been shattered.

Investigators determined the televisions had been stolen from the church.

Gilmore was charged with burglary, theft and possession of a synthetic drug. He was transported to the Knox County Jail pending posting of $10,000 cash bond.
