Malfunction at water plant causes high chlorine levels in West Terre Haute water


WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — West Terre Haute residents could see some changes in their water Saturday.

According to Town Board President Chuck Stranahan, there was a high level of chlorine in the water because a malfunction at the new water treatment plant.

He said the issue was found around 6 a.m. Saturday morning.

Workers were at the plant flushing the water in order to get the levels down.

The town made an announcement that the change in the water should be fixed by the end of the day Saturday.

Stranahan said the state has been contacted about the issue.

A boil order is not in place.
