Making Goals & Taking Names

Midwestern Indiana youth finished out the 8th annual Midwest Classic Soccer tournament strong today.

You’ll see the soccer fields along Springhill Drive covered with young players. Eighty-six teams to be exact thats over 1200 players.

“It brings people to our community and it shows the youth of our community and the growth of our community. I really feel like soccer is community. And families get out here and you get to meet a lot of people in your community and serving together, it’s the heart of your community,” Sarah Wessel with Vigo Co. Youth Soccer said.

Next weekend the Vigo County Youth Soccer Program will host 800 recreational athletes. Events will continue on the soccer field for the next two months. The group also offers travel soccer for more competitive players and groups for children with disabilities.
