VIGO Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Loyal Veteran’s Battalion is continuing to lend to helping hand to veterans and civilians in need. Saturday they did so with a food drive.
The group set up outside Baesler’s Market in Terre Haute to collect canned goods and other food items.
They handed out grocery lists to customers in hopes to reach their goal of 2,500 pounds of food.
The group’s administrative coordinator said if not for the community, helping others wouldn’t be possible.
“It’s tough this year. People have gone through a lot. And for a person to turn around and to be able to give like many people have given, says an awful lot about the heart and soul of this community,” said Michael Egy of the Loyal Veterans Battalion.
The group also has a clothing closet for those in need of clothes.
