Loogootee man dies in Monday night crash

LOOGOOTEE, Ind. – A Loogootee man died following a single-vehicle crash Monday night, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.

Donald Ray Harris, 59, of Loogootee was driving northbound on County Road 1125 E when his vehicle left the road and traveled approximately 400 feet before crashing into a tree at 9186 S 1125 E.

Witnesses at the scene performed CPR until emergency crews arrived. 

Harris was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, it is believed Harris suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash. 

Southeast Fire Department, Dubois County EMS and Southwest Medical assisted at the scene.
