Locals Watch Comey Testify

While the TVs were on at Indiana State University and in waiting rooms across the Valley, it was quite difficult finding people actually paying attention to the James Comey testimony.

However, we did find a local law firm where interest was high.

“We’re interested in the political spectrum and what’s happening but more importantly we’re interested in what is happening to our our government and if the White House is involved in any collusion for putting the country in any type of compromising position with any other country,” says Mike Ellis of Ellis Law.

Former FBI Agent and current Vincennes University Professor Louis Caprino was also paying attention, saying it’s one of the biggest hearings involving the government in quite some time.

“I think this is an important event for the American public to view and again to hear from the former director himself,” says Caprino.

Caprino feels the hearing is important because this case is so rare.

“I don’t think it will have any bearing on the future of the FBI or the independence of the FBI nor should it have any influence on the independence or integrity of our next director,” says Caprino.

Many may have not been able to watch the entire live broadcast, but that didn’t stop Twitter from blowing up, memes and tweets came from everywhere. That’s just another reason why both felt the testimony was so important to finding the truth.
