TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Saturday, ISU men’s basketball will host their season opener as a $50 million renovation of Hulman Center continues.
Bryan Duncan, with ISU facilities management, says some of the more noticeable changes inside of Hulman Center will include the lighting and restroom areas.
Duncan says a new lighting system has been put in place for the basketball court and the northwest restroom area has been updated and will be operational for Saturday.
Although Hulman Center will be opened, construction work will continue throughout the basketball season but at a slower pace than normal.
Major changes like replacing the arena’s upper bowl seats will be done next summer.
Duncan says he asks for the community for patience as the project continues.
“We ask for everyone’s patience. It’s an ongoing construction project and we’re working very hard to stay on schedule and still meet the needs of the facility through the basketball season,” Duncan said.
During this basketball season, both the south entry and concourse will remained closed.
The other three entries will be available for visitors.
The entire project is expected to be finished in November of 2020, barring any weather delays.
